1st Youth Biology Summit (2024)

Time: June 2024
Location: Shanghai Pinghe Bilingual School gymnasium
I spearheaded publicity for our team's inaugural event and participated as an exhibitor and cooperating club president.
The summit attracted 350+ attendees and featured 20+ booths from 15 schools, alongside prominent science education speakers.

2nd Youth Biology Summit (2025)

Time: June 2025
Location: Shanghai Jianguo West Road
Through a selective interview process, our team expanded to 17 dedicated members. I orchestrated key operational phases from initial proposal writing and sponsor liaison to on-site booth layout and graphic design.
This summit attracted 250+ attendees and featured 20+ booths from 16 schools.

1st Youth Biology Forum (2025)

Time: July 2025
Location: Shanghai Jianguo West Road
My responsibilities were consistent with my role at the 2nd Youth Biology Summit. In addition to this role, I also served as the on-site host.
We convened a panel of six experts from various biological fields. This forum attracted 80+ attendees. The WeChat official account garnered over 17,000 cumulative views.

“The Infinite Possibilities of Life"

Theme of the First Summit

The theme aims to reveal life's boundless potential through biological discovery. We hope participants uncover life's wonders and find their unique place through experiments and connections.

My booth showcased pigment extraction from Cabomba caroliniana, featuring an original experiment I designed. The process involved a multi-step protocol of mashing, filtration, chemical precipitation, and grinding to produce a vivid pigment powder.

Theme of the Second Summit

The inspiration for this theme came from our introduction of "interdisciplinary booths" at the summit, encouraging all exhibitors to bring more diverse and multidimensional content.

Our working group was divided into three teams: Operations, Publicity, and External Relations. I was a member of both the Publicity and Operations teams.

So, what were my specific responsibilities? (The following shows only a partial selection.)

Together with the event team members, I drafted the proposal for the Bio-Summit and Forum to facilitate sponsorship acquisition and streamline follow-up tasks for the internal team.

Two months before the event, along with two other team members, I visited various exhibition venues in Shanghai. We evaluated factors such as location, transportation, and venue size, and ultimately selected the event location. We then completed the necessary documentation with the venue management and sponsors and negotiated the details of the venue rental.

Based on the available data, we estimated the number of on-site booths. I created a floor plan and arranged the layout for the discussion area, main stage, various booths, and the welcome entrance.

During the event planning phase, I also consistently took on graphic design responsibilities. I was in charge of creating posters and formatting for official account articles. I also designed the event's main visual image and merchandise (puzzle-style acrylic keychains).

Theme of the First Forum

We challenged the stereotype of biology careers being limited to labs by inviting six experts from organoid research, natural sciences, and pharmaceuticals. Their talks showcased the limitless career paths for biology professionals.

This is also ME!

In addition to my pre-event responsibilities, I served as the on-site host, where I managed the event flow, energized the atmosphere, and facilitated discussions by posing questions to guests.

We introduced a discussion board session at the forum, where participants could write any biology-related questions on sticky notes and post them on the board. They could also leave their comments under any biology topic that interested them.
