Hi There!
Welcome to my detailed introduction page! I'll be sharing the origins of my interests, the three phases in my life, and some of the other aspects of my life.
A Bit About Me
Born in a traditional Chinese family, I spent most of my childhood with my family and childhood friends. Both my mother and father played important roles in nurturing my early interests. When I was six, my father bought me my first set of experimental equipment—I still remember it included a microscope and a scalpel. My mother bought me my first detective novel at a bookstore, Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express. My family laid the foundation for my later academic interests.

Three Pivotal Phases

September 2021-July 2023
My early secondary school years felt like an intellectual 'omakase,' where I was served a pre-set platter of knowledge by the school curriculum. In this structured environment, my true happiness came from two cherished escapes: the weekly painting class that set my imagination free, and the clandestine thrill of reading detective novels during evening study sessions.
It was during this period of transition to a new school that I devoted much energy to adapting and making friends. Despite these demands, I was already poring over my personal copy of Forensic Site Investigation, my academic interests taking definite shape. Observing the distinct facial features and diverse temperaments of those around me, I began to ponder the concept of genetic variation, my first nascent curiosity about the forces that shape human difference.
September 2023 - Present
Upon entering high school, I discovered an opportunity to become "a new version of myself." The most notable change was not merely my rapidly improving academic performance, but more profoundly, the evolution in my thinking. I began to consciously integrate scientific knowledge with my personal encounters of stereotypes and stigma, initiating a multifaceted exploration into areas such as adolescent well-being and youth sleep health.

Still Life Drawing
This is the first sketch I drew at the age of ten, building on my existing foundation in watercolor and quick sketching.

Portrait Sketch
Drawn at fourteen, this more challenging piece showcases the evolution in my artistic skills, particularly in the more nuanced rendering of light and shadow.

Pipette
Academically, I frequently spent time in the biology lab. There were occasions in the school lab where I stayed until eight or nine p.m., persistently troubleshooting the causes of negative results. It was precisely this process of deduction that allowed me to explore biology and psychology in great depth and led me to connect with like-minded peers.

Me and My Friends on Moli Mountain
My top sports in high school were hiking and mountaineering. To me, climbing is a unique way to connect with nature. Unlike a 20-minute jog, it provides hours of immersion that relaxes me and resets my mind. It also builds stronger friendships when I go with classmates and teachers. So far, I've hiked a cumulative total of over 20 km.
